Commercial Heating & Air Conditioning Installation

Having a commercial HVAC system installed is a significant undertaking. You need to know you are getting the best system for the right price and installed by the right people. These are weighty decisions, as the installation process and the results can directly affect the success of your business.

Since this is such an important undertaking, you should only trust it to a company with plenty of experience in this field. Types of Commercial HVAC Systems

When choosing a commercial HVAC system, make sure you get the right kind for your business. There are all kinds of commercial settings, from warehouses to corner delis, and because of this, there are just as many different types of commercial HVAC systems. Unless you are somewhat familiar with HVAC systems already, it is difficult to determine which system is the best for your commercial building.

For instance, you can opt for either a radiant system or a forced air system. Forced air systems are generally the most common, as they provide temperature controlled air to all areas of your building by blowing it through a series of air ducts. If you want to have a forced air system installed, you need to have the ducts installed as well (if they are not already in place) and this can add significantly to your installation costs.

You also need to have the space to install the ducts, and in a smaller storefront or building, that can be a problem. In those instances, a radiant system may be a better option. In a radiant system, heating and cooling is accomplished by running water through a system of pipes installed in the floor and walls of the building. Those pipes take up less space than the air ducts and are typically easier to install. If space is at a premium in your building, you may want to consider a radiant heating and cooling system.

You must also decide whether you want a single zone or multi-zone HVAC system. A single zone system lets you set a single temperature for the entire space, while multi-zone systems make it possible to keep one area of your building cooler or warmer than others. For instance, you may want your back room cooler to help keep goods fresh while making sure your customer area is warmer. Situations like this are far less common in a warehouse, however.

Proper Procedures

It is very important that all proper state and local guidelines be followed during a commercial HVAC installation. Any errors or oversights in this area will cause serious complications for you later, so it’s best to choose a contractor who is familiar with all of the regulations in your area.
