Answers:

1. Do I need a maintenance contract for my HVACR equipment?
Absolutely; it will help prevent untimely breakdowns, save on energy, and prolong the life of the equipment.

2. Are maintenance contracts expensive?
No. In fact, they are remarkably low cost and practically pay for themselves.

3. Does my service contractor need a boiler pressure vessel license?
In most cases, yes; if your contractor works on boilers, refrigeration equipment over 3 tons, air conditioning equipment over 5 tons, or any kind of pressure vessel at all, he or she must have this license. Should an accident occur on any of this equipment, your insurance company does not have to cover you.

4. What gas license is required for a service technician to work on my equipment?
For gas equipment over 400,000 BTUH's, you require a Gas Fitter 1 license and a Gas Fitter 2 for fewer than 400,000 BTUH's. All Advantage Airtech technicians are properly licensed and registered.

5. Do all contractors have all the necessary licenses to work on my equipment?
Amazingly, no… some may not have insurance, proper training or be covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

6. Can any one buy Freon gas?
No…you must be licensed and have an ODP (Ozone Depletion Card). Manufacturers and distributors of Freon provide ODP training programs.

7. Are there government rebates for installing energy efficient products?
Yes, lots of them, some as high as $50,000.00.

8. Is there such a thing as an "Eco-friendly" filter?

9. Are gas fired radiant tube heaters for my factory more efficient?
Yes. They are as much as 50% more efficient than other types of gas heating equipment. There are also government rebates as well.

10. Are there more efficient boilers on the market?
Absolutely; condensing type boilers are quite common and are over the 90% efficiency mark. There are also government and utility rebates for them.
