In most cases, yes; if your contractor works on boilers, refrigeration equipment over 3 tons, air conditioning equipment over 5 tons, or any kind of pressure vessel at all, he or she must have this license. Should an accident occur on any of this equipment, your insurance company does not have to cover you.

What gas license is required for a service technician to work on my equipment? |

For gas equipment over 400,000 BTUH's, you require a Gas Fitter 1 license and a Gas Fitter 2 for fewer than 400,000 BTUH's. All Advantage Airtech technicians are properly licensed and registered.

Amazingly, no… some may not have insurance, proper training or be covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

No… you must be licensed and have an ODP (Ozone Depletion Card). Manufacturers and distributors of Freon provide ODP training programs.
